Job summary

Westmont Living in Chula Vista, CA is seeking a compassionate MED TECH to support residents across medication administration and daily living activities. This role works under RN/RSD direction to ensure safe, accurate medication setup and documentation.

Responsibilities include completing MARs promptly, recording PRN reasons and effectiveness, and maintaining compliance with health screenings and background checks. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Must be able to set up, record and assist with medications as ordered by physicians and/or at the direction of the RN and RSD.
• Provide medication assistance documentation per policy and state requirements including MARs.
• Leaves no blanks on MARs and documents reasons for PRN medications and effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Perform medication set-up and assist residents on the Medication Program under supervision of RN/RSD.
• Assist residents with ADL tasks as needed.
• Document medication assistance promptly on MARs with accuracy.
• Maintain compliance with health screenings (Physical, TB, Drug test) and background checks.
• Support a homelike, caring environment for residents.

What we need from you:

• Perform medication set-up and assist residents on the Medication Program with the self-

administration of their medications

• Must be able to set up, record and assist with medications as ordered by physicians and/or at

the direction of the RN and RSD.

• Provide medication assistance documentation per policy and state requirements including:
• Document medication assistance on Medication Assistance Records (MARs) immediately after assistance
• Leaves no blanks on MARs
• Document reasons for PRN medication on reverse of MARs and effectiveness of medication

• Caregiver-Assisting residents with ADL tasks.
• Must have criminal record clearance prior to initial presence in the community
• Must pass all health screen such as Physical, TB, Drug test
• Must have current basic first aid or obtain within first 30 days of hire.
