Job summary

Westmont Living, Inc. is seeking a compassionate MED TECH to join Westmont of Cypress, an assisted living and memory care community. You will perform medication setup, assist residents with self-administration, and document on MARs as directed by the RN and policy. A clear record with no blanks is essential. Candidates must pass health screenings, background checks, and obtain basic first aid within 30 days. Schedule: 10:00 pm to 6:00 am; competitive pay and benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

• Medication set-up and resident assistance per physician orders.
• Record and document medications on MARs and keep MARs complete.
• Criminal background clearance prior to start.
• Pass health screenings including TB, drug test.
• First aid training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Set up and aid residents with self-administration of medications.
• Document MARs immediately after assistance.
• Ensure MARs have no blanks.
• Record PRN medication reasons and effectiveness.
• Maintain compliance with policy and state requirements.

What we need from you:

• Perform medication set-up and assist residents on the Medication Program with the self-administration of their medications
• Must be able to set up, record and assist with medications as ordered by physicians and/or at the direction of the RN and RSD.
• Provide medication assistance documentation per policy and state requirements including:
• Document medication assistance on Medication Assistance Records (MARs) immediately after assistance
• Leaves no blanks on MARs
• Document reasons for PRN medication on reverse of MARs and effectiveness of medication
• Must have criminal record clearance prior to initial presence in the community
• Must pass all health screen such as Physical, TB, Drug test
• Must have current basic first aid or obtain within first 30 days of hire.
