Job summary

VOA Northern California & Northern Nevada seeks a full-time Support Staff member for the Parker House family shelter. The role requires compassion, teamwork, and the ability to maintain safety and order during an overnight shift (Friday–Sunday, 10:30 PM–7:00 AM).

The position offers a comprehensive benefits package including paid holidays, vacation, sick pay, health/dental/vision/LTD insurance, and opportunities for training. CPR/First Aid within 90 days is required.

Qualifications

• Must pass all required background clearances.
• General knowledge of issues related to homelessness and related challenges.

Responsibilities

• Explain program rules to residents and ensure rule observance.
• Coordinate meal prep, sleeping assignments, showers, and laundry.
• Provide awake shift coverage and security checks.
• De-escalate crises and provide emergency assistance as needed.
• Maintain daily reports and facility cleanliness.
• Perform clerical duties during shifts.
