Job summary

Volunteers of America Northern California and Northern Nevada is seeking full-time overnight Support Staff for the Meadowview Navigation Center in Sacramento. The role provides safety and compassionate care to women experiencing homelessness during the 10:00 PM–6:30 AM shift.

Responsibilities include guest assessment, de-escalation, daily program tasks, incident reporting, and coordination with Case Management.

Qualifications

• Experience in shelter or homeless-services environments preferred.
• Ability to de-escalate crises and maintain safety.
• Excellent communication with guests, staff, and Case Management.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assess guests' needs and provide compassionate, professional support.
• Explain program rules and ensure guest compliance with policies.
• Coordinate meals, room assignments, and daily routines.
• Maintain logs, incident reports, and notes for shift handovers.
• Collaborate with Case Management to address guest concerns.
