Job summary

Victory Programs in Boston’s Dorchester location is seeking an Awake Overnight Resident Assistant to support residents, maintain a safe environment and assist staff with daily operations. The role reports to the Program Director and requires staying awake for the entire shift from 12 AM to 8 AM, working on-site 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Strong organizational, writing, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of or openness to Addiction/Recovery and Harm Reduction Practices/Philosophy or a willingness to acquire within the first six months of employment.
• Excellent verbal communication skills including an ability to have open and affirming conversations.
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively as a member of a professional team.
• CPR certification (may be obtained upon hire).
• TB screening (may be obtained upon hire).
• Three work related professional references; at least 2 from manager or supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Maintain residence in a state of good repair and safety.
• Ensure fire safety standards are met.
• Document observations and engagements with clients during shifts.
• Assist with inventory and storage of supplies.
• Provide daily office and receptionist tasks and care of house records.
• Attend supervision and staff meetings and trainings.
• Conduct safety, security and wellness rounds throughout the program.
