Job summary

R1 is hiring a Patient Registration Representative in Austin, TX, for overnight shifts (Wednesday 6 PM – 12 AM, Thursday–Saturday 6 PM – 6 AM). You will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring fast, compassionate access to care and accurate information entry across multiple systems.

This frontline role is key to patient experience, hospital operations, and revenue cycle success. Prior healthcare background is not required as training is provided, and bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service and assist patients and families with the check-in process across multiple computer systems.
• Answer phones and gather accurate patient information quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Build trust with patients during moments of illness, anxiety, or confusion.
• Navigate insurance plans, enter demographics, collect co-pays, and provide cost estimates when applicable.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and care teams to ensure smooth patient flow.
