Job summary

R1 RCM Inc. is seeking a Patient Registration Customer Service Representative at Ascension Seton Medical of Austin. This PRN role (minimum 48 hours per month) mainly covers night shifts and on-call periods, with potential additional shifts.

You’ll be the first friendly face for patients at check-in, guiding them through registration and answering questions with confidence and empathy. You will register patients in multiple systems, collect accurate information, and explain insurance coverage

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong customer service experience.
• Ability to pass background check, drug test, and meet vaccination requirements.
• Preferred Medical or healthcare experience (but not required!).

Responsibilities

• Work across multiple computer systems to register patients efficiently.
• Answer phones and gather information quickly and accurately.
• Assist patients who may be ill, anxious, or confused.
• Navigate diverse insurance plans and coverage details (with training!).
• Adapt to interruptions from clinical teams during urgent care situations.
• Build rapport and ease patient concerns in real time.
