Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital is seeking a Night Shift Environmental Services team member to maintain a clean and safe environment across patient rooms, lounges, offices, and public areas. You will keep areas stocked, handle waste, and follow safety guidelines.

Work hours are 10:00pm–6:30am, with 80 hours every two weeks, and every other weekend/holiday. A High School diploma or GED is preferred; reasonable accommodations are provided if needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean/neat environment in working area (patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse's stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas).
• Participates in all cleaning activities (dusting, washing, drying, mopping, vacuuming, moving furniture, trash).
• Keeps assigned area stocked with supplies (paper towels, toilet paper, etc.).
• Maintains stock on cleaning carts with wet and dry supplies.
• Maintains good customer relations with staff and other departments.
• Manages workload and delegates tasks as needed; serves as a resource to staff.

A Brief OverviewResponsible for maintaining a clean work environment in assigned areas which may include, but not be limited to: patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse's stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas. Serves as a Resource to staff members when leadership is not available.

• Keeps assigned area fully stocked with supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, etc.
• Responsible for maintaining stock on individual cleaning carts including wet and dry supplies.
• Maintain good customer relations at all times by demonstrating a good rapport and cooperative working relationship with employees, all departments, coworkers and other pertinent staff.
• Responsible for managing workload and delegating tasks as needed to other staff members.
• Maintain competency and serve as a Resource to staff members as needed.
