Job summary

Avera McKennan on Louise Health Campus is seeking a Janitorial Associate to maintain a clean work environment across patient rooms, offices, lounges, and hallways. The role follows a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:00am to 3:30pm with occasional weekend/holiday rotations; physical tasks include lifting up to 80 pounds and moving linens.

Responsibilities cover trash removal, cleaning walls, floors, and surfaces, and assisting with relocation of office furniture and equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• Required Education: High School or GED Equivalent or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Participates in cleaning duties such as cleaning walls, ceilings, vents, lights, baseboards, windows/glass and replacing light bulbs.
• Maintains clean floor surfaces through dusting, buffing, scrubbing, strip/sealing, waxing, extracting and vacuuming.
• Disposes of trash properly including pickup, boxing, shredding, and maintaining cleanliness of receptacles.
• Relocates office and hospital furniture/equipment as needed.

Position Highlights

Duties: Floors equipment, stocking linens and transport of 80 pounds linen.

A Brief Overview

Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment in assigned area. Responsible for proper removal of trash, recycling, and regulated medical waste.

What you will do

• Maintains a clean/neat environment in working area. These areas may include, but not be limited to: patient rooms, offices, nurses' stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, stairwells, and lobby areas.
• Participates in all cleaning activities as assigned. These may include, but not be limited to: cleaning walls, ceilings, vents, lights, baseboards, windows/glass and replacing light bulbs.
• Maintains clean/neat floor surfaces as assigned. This may entail, but not be limited to: dusting, buffing, scrubbing, strip/sealing, waxing, extracting, and vacuuming.
• Dispose of all trash in an appropriate manner including the pickup, boxing, shredding, and maintaining general cleanliness of trash receptacles.
• Participates in relocation of office and other general hospital furniture/equipment as necessary.
