Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital is seeking a night shift cleaner responsible for maintaining a clean and safe hospital environment. Duties include cleaning patient rooms, offices, nurse stations, and common areas while ensuring supplies are stocked and areas are well maintained.

The role requires basic education, good communication, and the ability to work with a multidisciplinary team during night hours. Benefits include PTO and a supportive work culture at Avera.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Ability to communicate effectively and hear/distinguish speech.
• Related experience and/or training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat environment in assigned areas such as patient rooms, offices and common areas.
• Participate in all cleaning activities including dusting, mopping, vacuuming and trash removal.
• Keep cleaning carts stocked with supplies and manage stock accordingly.
• Coordinate workload with team and serve as a resource when leadership is not available.

Work where you matter.A Brief OverviewResponsible for maintaining a clean work environment in assigned areas which may include, but not be limited to: patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse's stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas. Serves as a Resource to staff members when leadership is not available.What you will doMaintains a clean/neat environment in working area. These areas may include, but not be limited to: patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse's stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas.Participates in all cleaning activities as assigned. These may include, but not be limited to dusting, washing, drying, mopping, vacuuming, moving furniture, and emptying trash.Keeps assigned area fully stocked with supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, etc.Responsible for maintaining stock on individual cleaning carts including wet and dry supplies.Maintain good customer relations at all times by demonstrating a good rapport and cooperative working relationship with employees, all departments, coworkers and other pertinent staff.Responsible for managing workload and delegating tasks as needed to other staff members.Maintain competency and serve as a Resource to staff members as needed.Essential QualificationsThe individual must be able to work the hours specified.
