Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital is seeking a conscientious housekeeping/custodian to maintain a clean patient environment and support hospital operations. The role includes cross-training in housekeeping and custodial tasks, and requires dependable attendance for a Monday–Friday schedule with rotating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED and 1–3 months related experience. Computer skills are a must, and the team emphasizes CARE and confidentiality in a compassionate

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean environment in patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse's stations, lounges, hallways and common areas.
• Performs cleaning tasks: dusting, washing, drying, mopping, vacuuming, trash removal.
• Keeps carts stocked with supplies and ensures proper linen handling.
• Demonstrates good customer relations and teamwork to support daily operations.

Work where you matter.A Brief OverviewResponsible for maintaining a clean work environment in assigned areas which may include, but not be limited to: patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse's stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas.What you will doMaintains a clean/neat environment in working area. These areas may include, but not be limited to: patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse's stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas.Participates in all cleaning activities as assigned. These may include, but not be limited to: dusting, washing, drying, mopping, vacuuming, moving furniture, and emptying trash.Keeps assigned area fully stocked with supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, etc.Responsible for maintaining stock on individual cleaning carts including wet and dry supplies.Maintain good customer relations at all times.May sort, wash, and accurately deliver linens.Essential QualificationsThe individual must be able to work the hours specified.
