Job summary

Paycom is seeking a Dispatcher/Logistics Coordinator to direct owner operators and third-party carriers in freight delivery. You will ensure on-time deliveries, coordinate with distribution centers, customers, and backhaul vendors, and monitor ETA and dispatch windows.

You will use routing software to track loads, prepare dispatch instructions, and adjust plans for exceptions. Strong organization, communication, and knowledge of the transportation industry are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; 2–3 years in related area preferred.
Experience in distribution and transportation industry beneficial.
Ability to learn service areas and delivery locations quickly.
Proficient with routing software and real-time data entry.
Strong organizational, multitasking and written/oral communication skills.
Customer-oriented, with solid interpersonal abilities and computer proficiency.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements governing hours of service.

Responsibilities

Direct and coordinate activities of owner operators and third-party carriers.
Monitor load readiness for dispatch and coordinate delivery times.
Advise receiving locations of driver ETA and re-route as needed.
Enter load progress and delivery data in real time using company software.
Prepare routing and delivery instructions for third-party drivers and orient them.
Maintain reports: status, daily, inbound, and weather reports.
Ensure compliance with hours of service and regulatory requirements.
