Job summary

Paycom in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Dispatch Specialist to streamline freight transportation operations and plan daily shipments. You will coordinate drivers and assets to maximize loads and maintain safety and efficiency.

Collaborate with dispatchers and fleet managers, develop operating plans, and ensure on-time deliveries while communicating with customers and other departments to optimize performance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; degree preferred.
• Previous logistics dispatch/scheduling experience preferred.
• Knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft and logistics application software.
• Ability to solve problems and work in high pressure situations, using independent judgement and discretion.
• Excellent written and oral communication; positive attitude and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Partner with dispatchers and fleet managers to plan and carry out shipping operations.
• Develop daily operating plan with emphasis on achieving department KPIs.
• Evaluate current operating plan and create future plans focusing on payload, on-time deliveries, and loaded miles.
• Engage daily with Scheduling Team Leader on growth opportunities for assets.
• Assess and adjust plans to maximize growth, efficiency and safety.
• Solicit new and existing customers for freight opportunities.
• Update sourcing and revise daily operating plan for efficiency.
• Communicate with customers, drivers, dispatchers, and other departments.
