Job summary

Paycom in the United States is seeking a dispatch coordinator to lead the coordination of owner operators, drivers, and third-party carriers for efficient freight delivery. You will manage load tendering, appointment scheduling, and backhaul coordination with customers and vendors to ensure timely and compliant deliveries.

The role requires strong communication, multitasking, and knowledge of Hours of Service regulations, with experience in routing software and load planning.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2–3 years in distribution/transportation environment.
• Experience using computerized routing software and load planning.
• Knowledge of Hours of Service regulations and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate activities of owner operators, drivers and third-party carriers for freight delivery.
• Communicate delivery and backhaul schedules; monitor load tendering and appointment times.
• Coordinate with customers, drivers, and vendors to secure timely deliveries.
• Plan loads using load planner tools and PTA board; optimize for no-forced dispatch.
• Prepare daily dispatch sheets and pass-down reports for shifts.
• Respond to incidents during transit and coordinate breakdowns or repowering as needed.
• Maintain safe, professional communication and accurate data entry into systems.
