Job summary

Bridgewell in Massachusetts seeks a Direct Support Professional to provide support to individuals with developmental, physical and psychiatric disabilities in residential and community settings.

The role emphasizes daily living skills training, fostering independence, and compassionate care across day, evening, and overnight shifts. Bridgewell offers training, safety oversight, and a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 5+ years of verified experience in the same role.
• Minimum 1 year of experience with developmental or psychiatric disabilities preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to drive a large/wheelchair van with a valid US driver’s license (minimum 1 year driving).

Responsibilities

• Provide daily living skills training and support across day, evening, or overnight shifts.
• Help people develop independence and decision-making in daily activities.
• Follow all regulatory standards and Bridgewell policies in service delivery.
• Support medical, clinical, and financial needs of people in services.
• Transport and accompany people to medical, recreational, and community activities.
• Maintain progress notes, shift checklists, and documentation per standards.
• Complete household cleaning duties as assigned.
• Conduct steady care calls during awake overnight shifts.
• Assist with accessing community resources and recreational opportunities.
• Maintain required training certifications (FA/CPR, PABC, MAP).
• Attend staff meetings and supervision; perform other duties.
