Job summary

Meijer, a family company dedicated to serving people and communities, is seeking an Area Leader. You will drive engagement, coaching, and performance management across a span of care while directing Leads and Team Leaders.

You’ll own area operations and P&L, aiming to maximize sales and productivity with a strong emphasis on safety and process improvements. This role requires at least 4 years in retail or customer service with progressive leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• A passion to provide industry leading service.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members to provide clear and precise direction.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrates proactive/creative thinking and applies it to the business.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members to ensure onboarding, training and development with coaching and feedback.
• Identifies talent and engages in career discussions to support staffing and leadership roles.
• Involvement in candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and growth.
• Accountability for area operations and financial results by overseeing execution of corporate plans to maximize sales and productivity.
• Drives safety and compliance store-wide and manages condition and compliance procedures.
• Ensures Leads assign daily work andTraining needs for team members.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
