Job summary

Meijer is seeking an Area Leader to drive team engagement and coaching across the span of care. You will direct Leads and Team Leaders, oversee area operations, budgets and forecasting, and ensure safety and compliance while improving processes and Meijer culture.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 4+ years in retail or customer service with progressive leadership. Strong business acumen and communication skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• A passion to provide industry leading service.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members with clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information for decisions.
• Ability to lead an organization that practices safety at all times.
• Strong business acumen and innovative attitude.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members to ensure onboarding, training and development, and coaching.
• Identifies talent and engages in career discussions to support staffing and leadership pipelines.
• Participates in candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and growth opportunities.
• Oversees area operations and financial results by implementing corporate plans to maximize sales and productivity.
• Drives safety, compliance, and store condition management; ensures adherence to procedures.
• Guides Team Leaders and Leads in daily work and training needs; assigns tasks.
