Job summary

Meijer, a family-owned retailer, seeks an Area Leader to drive engagement, coaching and development across the span of care. You’ll manage staffing, budgets, and area performance while steering savings, safety and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information.
• Commitment to safety and compliance.
• Clear communication with team members.
• Inclusive leadership and diverse merchandising knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Engage with team members to ensure onboarding, training and development, and coaching.
• Identify talent and discuss career paths to support staffing and leadership roles.
• Oversee area operations and financial results, including budget and P&L accountability.
• Direct Leads and Team Leaders and assign daily work.
• Identify process improvements and uphold Meijer standards and culture.
• Ensure safety/compliance and resolve team/customer conflicts.
