Job summary

Meijer in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking an Area Leader to oversee team engagement, coaching, and development across the span of care. You will drive recognition, feedback, and performance management while aligning with budget and staffing forecasts.

You’ll direct Leads and Team Leaders, implement process improvements, ensure safety and compliance, and uphold Meijer’s culture. A Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years in retail leadership are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Engage with team members to ensure onboarding, training and development, and coaching and feedback.
• Identify talent and support staffing strategy including leadership pipelines.
• Conduct candid discussions to promote growth within the organization.
• Oversee area operations and financial results, including budgeting and forecasting.
• Drive safety, compliance, and store condition management.
• Guide Leads and Team Leaders in daily work and training needs.
