Job summary

Pike Electric, Inc. is hiring a Groundman to support the construction and maintenance of overhead electrical distribution systems. You will assist the team on various tasks, work outdoors, and report to the Foreman while prioritizing safety and efficiency.

You will be involved in installing and repairing lines, maintaining equipment, and supporting operations during outages and emergencies. This entry‑level role emphasizes safety training and physical endurance to succeed in demanding

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License; able to obtain CDL within 60 days.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work extended periods at job locations, including out‑of‑state assignments.
• Willing to work outside normal hours, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair overhead distribution systems with safety as a priority.
• Help install and repair overhead power lines, poles, insulators, conductors and related hardware.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and storms.
• Available to work outages, emergencies including on call rotation.
• Follow all safety protocols including PPE use and protection of insulated gear.
• Inspect rubber goods and PPE; ensure proper usage of PPE.
• Perform rigorous physical labor as required.
