Job summary

Pike Electric seeks a Groundman to support the construction and maintenance of overhead electrical distribution systems. You will work with a crew under a Foreman, performing new construction, repairs, and upkeep while prioritizing safety.

This role requires outdoor work in varying weather, traveling long distances on short notice, and lifting up to 50 pounds. A valid driver’s license is required, and a CDL must be obtained within 60 days.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required; CDL must be obtained within 60 days.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and travel as needed.
• Commitment to safety protocols and PPE usage.

Responsibilities

• Assist crew in building, repairing, and maintaining overhead electrical distribution systems.
• Report to the Foreman and follow safety protocols.
• Perform new construction and maintenance of overhead distribution systems.
• Install and repair overhead power lines, poles, insulators, conductors and related hardware.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools.
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions; outages, storms and emergency callouts.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice and work extended hours including weekends.
• Inspect PPE and determine appropriate PPE use.
