Job summary

Pike Corporation is seeking a Groundman to start a career in constructing and maintaining overhead electrical distribution systems. You will assist a crew, build, repair and inspect the lines, poles and hardware, while reporting to the Foreman.

The role requires physical stamina, willingness to travel, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather. You must be prepared for emergencies, overtime, and on-call rotations as part of this position.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with ability to obtain CDL within 60 days.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Willing to work extended hours, weekends, holidays and on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction, maintenance and repair of overhead distribution systems.
• Assist in installing and repairing overhead power lines, poles, insulators and hardware.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good order.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and environments.
• Participate in outages, storms, emergencies and on-call rotations.
• Follow safety protocols, PPE usage and insulating procedures.
• Inspect PPE and rubber goods; understand proper PPE usage.
• Perform rigorous physical labor.
