Job summary

Pike Electric LLC is seeking a Groundman to start a rewarding career in the construction and maintenance of our nation's power grid. You will support the crew in building, repairing and maintaining overhead distribution systems and report to the Foreman.

This hands-on role requires safety-first thinking, physical labor, and willingness to travel, work out‑of‑state assignments, and participate in on-call rotations during outages, storms or emergencies.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license; ability to obtain CDL within 60 days.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push or pull materials up to 50 pounds.
• Work extended hours including weekends, holidays and emergencies.
• Willing to work out-of-state assignments.

Responsibilities

• Assist in constructing and maintaining overhead distribution systems with safety first.
• Install and repair overhead power lines, poles, insulators and related hardware.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.
• Work outdoors in extreme heat, cold, rain, wind and storms.
• Participate in outages, storms and emergencies; on-call rotation.
• Follow safety protocols including PPE use and proper insulation procedures.
• Inspect PPE and rubber goods; understand when to wear PPE.
• Perform rigorous physical labor.
