Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2–3 years of outside sales experience.
• Experience selling intangible products or services preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 30% (including overnight visits).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet driving record standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and expand a Florida sales territory, with a home base in Orlando or Tampa.
• Identify and prospect college professors for customized textbooks and digital learning solutions.
• Coordinate campus visits, schedule appointments, and conduct presentations and product demonstrations.
• Build relationships with educators by understanding curriculum needs and affordability concerns.
• Manage opportunities from prospecting through negotiations and signed agreements.
• Coordinate publishing projects with internal teams to support launches.
• Track activity and maintain records in Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

Position Title: Outside Sales Representative - Remote

We are seeking an ambitious Outside Sales Representative to drive new business development throughout Florida, with a preferred home base in Orlando or Tampa. This remote, territory-based outside sales position focuses on partnering with college professors to develop customized educational publishing solutions, securing new publishing agreements, and supporting academic authors throughout the publication process.

The ideal candidate is an energetic, articulate, and results-driven sales professional who enjoys meeting new people, uncovering business opportunities, and building trusted relationships. This individual brings a hunter mentality, strong organizational skills, and the confidence to engage with educators while independently managing a growing territory.

Salary Range: $60K-130K (base + commission OTE) / annually, DOE

Responsibilities

• Develop and expand a Florida sales territory, with a preferred home base in Orlando, Tampa, or another centrally located Florida community
• Identify and prospect college professors who could benefit from customized textbooks and digital learning solutions
• Coordinate campus visits, schedule appointments, and conduct engaging presentations and product demonstrations
• Build relationships with educators by understanding their curriculum needs, instructional challenges, and student affordability concerns
• Manage new business opportunities from initial prospecting through proposal discussions, contract negotiations, and signed agreements
• Partner with internal instructional design, editorial, and production teams to coordinate publishing projects and support timely launches
• Track prospect activity, manage sales pipelines, and maintain accurate records in Microsoft Dynamics CRM

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required
• Ability to work remote
• At least 2–3 years of outside sales experience with a demonstrated ability to develop new business
• Experience selling intangible products or services, such as insurance, professional services, or other consultative solutions, preferred
• Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Independent, goal-oriented approach with the resilience to overcome objections and maintain consistent prospecting activity
• Ability to travel up to 30%, including overnight campus visits and extensive walking
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving record standards
