Carter Lumber Company is seeking an Outside Sales Representative in Owensboro, KY to build and maintain relationships with local contractors and builders. You will sell our full line of building materials and installed services, manage each project after sale, and grow your customer base through effective communication and follow-through.

Role emphasizes independent work, reading blueprints, material takeoffs, and strong planning skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales, preferably in building materials.
• Knowledge of home building basics and market you serve.
• Ability to create material estimates/quotes and handle special orders.
• Open new accounts monthly/quarterly; grow territory.
• Learn to read blueprints and provide material take-off lists.
• Self-starter with strong independence and reliability.
• Strong planning and organizational skills; manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Sell full line of building materials and installed services to local contractors, builders, and remodelers.
• Manage each sold job and the customer relationship throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collect and update customer product usage data and trends.
• Visit job sites as needed to verify materials and project progress; maintain schedules.
• Apply proven sales strategies with strong follow-through and communication.
