Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking an Outside Sales Representative in Ohio to build and maintain relationships with local contractors, builders, and remodelers. You will sell our full line of building materials and installed services, manage each project after closing, and visit job sites as needed.

Strong communication and follow-through are essential for success. Salary plus commission with uncapped potential; candidates should read blueprints, estimate materials, and open new accounts regularly.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales and home building knowledge required.
• Ability to create material estimates/quotes and special orders.
• Open new accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis is preferred.
• Learn to read blueprints and provide material take-off lists.
• Readiness to work independently with strong planning skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Sell the full line of building materials and installed services to local contractors, builders, and remodelers.
• Manage relationships after a sale and coordinate with yard, dispatch, and management.
• Visit job sites, maintain schedules, and communicate project updates.
• Develop and follow through on sales strategies to maximize commissions.
