Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking an Outside Sales Representative in Owensboro, KY to build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, builders, and remodelers. You will sell our full line of building materials and installed services, and manage post-sale relationships while driving growth for a multi-brand, family-owned company.

You will gather customer data, visit job sites as needed, and coordinate with yard and dispatch to ensure timely delivery and service.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales.
• Knowledge of home building basics.
• Create material estimates/quotes and takeoffs.
• Open new accounts monthly/quarterly.
• Read blueprints and provide material take-off lists.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
• Attend HBA/builder/company functions as required.

Responsibilities

• Find and close sales of our full line of building materials and installed services with local contractors, builders, and remodelers.
• Manage the sold job and ongoing relationship after closing the sale.
• Collect and update information on customers’ product use and trends.
• Visit job sites as needed to assess needs and ensure service quality.
• Maintain schedules and respond to issues to keep projects on track.
