Job summary

Carter Lumber Company is hiring an Outside Sales Representative in Kentucky to build and maintain relationships with local contractors, builders, and remodelers. You will sell our full line of building materials and installed services, manage the ongoing relationship, and visit job sites as needed.

Salary plus commission with unlimited earning potential; strong emphasis on communication and follow-through to close projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales within a building materials environment.
• Knowledge of home building basics.
• Create material estimates/quotes and special orders.
• Open new accounts monthly/quarterly.
• Learn to read blueprints and provide material take off lists.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
• Attend HBA/builder/company functions as required.

Responsibilities

• Sell full line of building materials and installed services.
• Manage customer relationships after sale.
• Visit job sites, maintain schedules, and respond to issues.
• Collect and update customer product usage data.
