Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking an Outside Sales Representative in Kentucky to build lasting relationships and drive sales of our building materials and installed services. You will manage projects from quotes to completion, visiting job sites and maintaining strong customer records.

The role emphasizes self-driven work, prospecting new accounts, reading blueprints, and coordinating with departments to ensure customer success. Commission offers uncapped earning potential.

Qualifications

• Experience in selling building materials or related products.
• Knowledge of home building concepts and products is preferred.
• Ability to create material estimates/quotes and manage special orders.
• Ability to open new accounts regularly.
• Learn to read blueprints and provide material take-offs.
• Strong self-management and organization skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
• Willingness to participate in industry functions as required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new contractor, builder, and remodeler opportunities.
• Sell our full line of building materials and installed services; manage the job and relationship post-sale.
• Maintain up-to-date customer information and project plans.
• Visit job sites as needed and coordinate with Yard, dispatch, and management teams.
• Develop and execute effective sales strategies with a focus on follow-through and communication.
