Friedmans Home Improvement is seeking an Outside Contractor Sales Representative in Santa Rosa, CA. The successful candidate will work independently to develop partnerships with local contractors, helping them grow their businesses through excellent customer service and product advice.

This role focuses on achieving sales goals, managing project schedules, and collaborating internally to meet customer commitments. Ideal candidates should have sales experience and strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of contractor sales or equivalent outside sales experience preferred.
• Home improvement product knowledge is preferable, not required.
• A combination of education and experience demonstrating necessary qualifications is acceptable.

Job Summary

The Outside Contractor Sales Representative is an independent, self‑motivated professional who partners with contractors across its sales territory (Sonoma, Marin, Napa, and surrounding counties) to grow their business. The role focuses on developing strong customer relationships, managing project schedules, and ensuring all sales commitments are met.

Responsibilities

• Achieve sales goals within the construction‑based industry in Sonoma, Marin, Napa, and surrounding counties.
• Partner with assigned customers to help them grow their business and secure more jobs in their communities.
• Develop a true business partnership with each customer, focusing on their yearly goals and objectives and determining how the company can help meet those goals.
• Provide top‑tier customer service by regularly meeting with assigned customers to assess future opportunities and challenges, and partnering to provide solutions.
• Assist customers in selecting products and recommend products best suited to their projects, budgets, and timelines.
• Collaborate with multiple internal teams and levels to execute commitments made to customers daily.
• Stay current and share industry insights on competitor prices, products, and other market‑related information.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED. Training or education in construction management basic skills preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of contractor sales or equivalent outside sales experience preferred.
• Home improvement product knowledge is preferable, not required.
• A combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required qualifications and skills is acceptable.

Work Environment

Most of the work will be performed outside a Friedman’s location at customer job sites and offices in Sonoma, Marin, Napa, and surrounding counties, with office work as needed.
