Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist for the Outpatient Speech Pathology department at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. This full-time role runs 8am–5pm, Monday through Friday, with pay between $35.50 and $53.25 per hour.

A Master’s in SLP and current licensure, plus CCC/SLP-CCC, are required. You will evaluate and treat patients, educate families, and participate in training and program development.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Minimum one year post CFY clinical experience, two years preferred.
• Current license in Speech-Language Pathology issued by the state Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology issued by ASHA.
• Candidate must have SLP-CCC.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive professional evaluation of patients of all ages referred for differential diagnosis of communicative or swallowing disorders.
• Educates patient and/or family regarding communication or swallowing deficits and treatment options.
• Plans and conducts treatment programs for patients with speech, language, voice and/or swallowing impairments and sets short- and long-term goals.
• Provides and participates in in-service education and training of speech pathology interns and fellows, medical students/residents, and allied staff; presents lectures to physicians, nurses, educators, and others.
• Coordinates and prioritizes patient caseload to ensure services are rendered efficiently and delays in diagnosis or intervention are minimized.
• Evaluates options for augmentative/alternative communication and recommends devices as needed.
• Ensures age-specific care and staff competency; maintains productivity targets and adheres to hospital standards.
