Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist for acute care and inpatient settings at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. The role covers comprehensive evaluations, diagnostic and treatment planning for communication and swallowing disorders, with collaboration across the care team.

Requires NC licensure, ASHA CCC-SLP, and BLS CPR. Schedule is M-F with weekend coverage, 40 hours per week, in Winston-Salem and Davie Medical Center as needed.

Qualifications

• Current license in Speech-Language Pathology issued by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (ASHA).
• BLS for Healthcare Providers, CPR and AED certification.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital standards and promotes a cooperative work environment.
• Performs comprehensive evaluations of patients with communicative and swallowing disorders.
• Selects and interprets diagnostic tools in line with patient age and needs.
• Documents findings, recommendations, and goals in the medical record on the same day as evaluation.
• Coordinates care with the medical team and other staff for optimal outcomes.
• Develops and implements individualized, functional treatment goals for patients.
