Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to join the Outpatient Speech Pathology team at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. This full-time role, 40 hours per week, requires a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and a current state license.

CFY experience is preferred; CCC-SLP certification is required. You will perform comprehensive evaluations, develop and implement treatment plans, counsel patients and families, and collaborate with colleagues to improve care quality.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Minimum one year post CFY clinical experience; two years preferred.
• Current license in Speech-Language Pathology issued by the applicable state Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC) required.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive professional evaluation of patients of all ages referred for differential diagnosis of communication or swallowing disorders.
• Provides education and counseling to patients and families regarding diagnosis and treatment options.
• Plans and conducts treatment programs for speech, language, voice and swallowing impairments; sets short- and long-term goals.
• Prepares and presents lectures and trains students and interns; participates in in-service education to maintain current techniques.
• Coordinates and prioritizes patient caseload to ensure efficient services and productivity goals.
• Evaluates augmentative/alternative communication options and recommends appropriate devices.
