Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist for outpatient care at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. The role involves evaluating patients of all ages, educating families, and developing individualized treatment plans.

You will provide therapy for speech, language, voice and swallowing disorders, participate in training programs, and help improve patient care while meeting productivity targets. A valid state license and CCC-SLP are required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Minimum one year post CFY clinical experience, two years preferred.
• Current license in Speech-Language Pathology by the state Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
• CCC-SLP certification from ASHA.
• Candidate must have SLP-CCC.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive professional evaluation of patients of all ages referred for differential diagnosis of communication or swallowing disorders.
• Educates patients and families about communication or swallowing deficits and treatment options.
• Plans and conducts treatment programs for speech, language, voice and/or swallowing impairments; sets short and long-term goals and adapts therapy as needed.
• Provides and participates in in-service education and training for interns, students and staff; presents lectures on communication disorders.
• Coordinates and prioritizes patient caseload to minimize delays in diagnosis or therapy.
• Evaluates options for augmentative/alternative communication and recommends appropriate devices.
• Ensures age-appropriate care and ongoing staff competency development.
• Meets productivity targets and adheres to hospital standards for teamwork.
