Job summary

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Minimum one year post CFY experience; two years preferred.
• Current license in Speech-Language Pathology issued by the applicable state Board.
• ASHA CCC-SLP (Certificate of Clinical Competence).
• Candidate must have SLP-CCC.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive professional evaluation of patients of all ages referred for differential diagnosis of communicative or swallowing disorders.
• Educates patient and/or family regarding communication or swallowing deficits and treatment options.
• Plans and conducts treatment programs for patients with speech, language, voice and/or swallowing impairments; sets short- and long-term goals.
• Provides and participates in in-service education and training of interns, fellows, medical students and staff; presents lectures.
• Coordinates patient caseload to ensure services are rendered efficiently and improves overall care quality.
• Evaluates options for augmentative/alternative communication and recommends/applies devices as needed.
• Ensures age-appropriate care and ongoing staff competency; meets productivity targets and hospital standards.
