Job summary

Cullman Regional Medical Center is looking for a Scheduling Clerk to accurately enter patients into the hospital scheduling system for outpatient testing and to ensure precertification requirements are met at scheduling. You will maintain up-to-date guidelines, document account handling, and support a high level of patient and guest experiences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• In-depth knowledge of medical terminology required.
• Two years medical terminology experience required.
• Computer experience is required and typing speed of 30 WPM.

Responsibilities

• Accurately enter patients into the hospital scheduling system for outpatient testing.
• Assure precertification requirements are met when patient is scheduled and complete follow-up if needed.
• Maintain up-to-date records of scheduling guidelines from all scheduling centers and follow all procedural guidelines and instructions on all scheduled procedures.
• Accurately and thoroughly document pertinent information regarding the handling of the account, including researching prior accounts.
• Demonstrate and encourage team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences.
• Uphold and promote patient safety and quality.
