Job summary

Cullman Regional Medical Center is seeking a patient services coordinator to independently create and schedule appointments within the electronic medical record, gather patient and provider information, and advise on copays, referrals, and pre-service deposits.

You will interact with patients, referring physicians, allied health staff and families, provide exceptional service, manage multiple scheduling workflows, and navigate several systems to support patient safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Education requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent; an associate's degree is preferred.
• Two years of customer service experience in call center, physician's office, or retail/service industry.
• Excellent customer service skills, strong typing and computer skills, and basic insurance terminology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Independently create and schedule appointments within the electronic medical record.
• Gather patient-specific demographic and provider information; properly advise patients regarding the need for copayments, referral authorizations, and/or pre-service deposits.
• Respond to and interact with a variety of individuals including patients, customers, referring physicians, Allied Health staff and family members.
• Provide exceptional service; navigate multiple systems simultaneously and are available to talk with patients and healthcare professionals.
• Work with several complex scheduling workflows, managing telephone calls, online requests, and/or fax requests.
• Demonstrate and encourage team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences.
• Uphold and promote patient safety and quality.
