Job summary

Wichita Urology Group is seeking an Outpatient Scheduler in Wichita, KS. The role schedules procedures per physician and APP orders, while delivering excellent customer service to patients and external practices.

The position reports to the Clinical Manager within Nursing - Clinical, and requires focus on accurate scheduling, insurance verification, and coordination with hospitals and clinics. This is a non-exempt, full-time opportunity in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years in the medical field.
• Knowledge in outpatient scheduling.
• Great communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail.
• Exceptional organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedule outpatient procedures for multiple Physicians including radiology, lab and other outside specialists as needed
• Communicate with various hospitals and other facilities schedulers to schedule patients accordingly
• Complete and send any forms and paperwork to hospitals, clinics and other Physicians
• Communicate with patients about pre-procedure instructions, follow-up appointments and answer any questions patients may have about their procedure
• Work with Physicians, APP’s and nursing staff to ensure patients are being scheduled promptly and accurately
• Verify correct scheduling based off of insurance policies
• Review patient electronic records to verify medical history and verify if a clearance is needed
• Verify insurance and send to procedure information to billing, obtain precertification and/or authorization as needed
• Perform in an organized manner to manage the workload with accuracy
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested
