Job summary

Spokane Urology PS is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to coordinate surgical procedures, pre-authorizations, and follow-up appointments within a multi-facility care team in Spokane, WA.

You will review pre-op tests, medications, and patient history, manage insurance interactions, and communicate scheduling changes with patients and providers, while maintaining HIPAA compliance and delivering outstanding service.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year scheduling experience in a surgery center or medical office.
• Experience with EMR systems and appointment scheduling software.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare coding systems.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedule office, surgery center and hospital procedures with provider and time/location.
• Pre-authorize surgeries with insurance and enter data into scheduling system.
• Maintain a surgical log for statistics.
• Provide pre-surgical packets and instructions to patients.
• Coordinate with facilities for equipment or personnel.
• Ensure pre-operative labs are ordered and tracked.
• Audit the automated phone system daily and adjust schedules.
• Verify scheduling accuracy before publication.
• Uphold HIPAA and organizational policies.
• Deliver compassionate patient service.
