Job summary

Summit Health Management is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomy Technician to join our satellite laboratory team in Livingston, NJ. You will perform blood collection, process specimens, and ensure proper handling in line with SOPs.

The role requires a high school diploma, at least 2 years of phlebotomy experience, and familiarity with LIS systems. Phlebotomy certification is preferred. This is a full-time position with day shifts and rotating weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years of phlebotomy experience required; drug screen collection preferred.
• Phlebotomy Technician Certification through the National Health Career Association (NHA) preferred; may be required for specific locations based on operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Uses aseptic technique to draw blood cultures and collect specimens.
• Processes specimens per SOP; coordinates with main lab.
• Trains new staff in lab policies and procedures.
• Properly handles paperwork, labeling, and patient information; documents actions.
• Monitors inventory and coordinates with courier for stat pickups.
