Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Gardendale, AL is seeking an entry-level Registered Nurse to join the Outpatient CAP1 program. In this role you will assess, plan, and deliver hemodialysis care for an assigned group of patients, under guidance from senior clinicians.

You will educate patients and families, document care in the electronic medical record, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team. A state license and CPR/BLS are required; prior nephrology experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.
• Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience.
• Chronic/acute hemodialysis experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate clinically competent care including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to RNs, LVN/LPNs and Patient Care Technicians.
• Document data collection across pre–during–post hemodialysis in the medical record.
• Educate patients and families about care plans and treatment options.
• Direct and provide safe delivery of hemodialysis therapy.
• Administer medications as prescribed or per approved algorithm.
• Initiate or assist with emergency response measures.
