Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry-level Registered Nurse CAP 1 to begin the Clinical Advancement Program. You will provide and coordinate clinically competent care for an assigned group of patients undergoing hemodialysis, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.

Under supervision, you will work with RNs, LVN/LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians; handle education, medication administration, emergency response, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet practice requirements in the state of employment.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze patient data during hemodialysis; adjust care plan as needed.
• Document in the patient medical record and notify team when appropriate.
• Educate patient and family on learning needs and treatment options.
• Deliver safe, effective hemodialysis therapy with staff collaboration.
• Administer prescribed medications per protocol and document effectiveness.
• Initiate or assist with emergency response measures.
• Serve as a resource and assist with training peers and new staff.
• Ensure correct lab collection, processing and handling for shipments.
• Update nursing assessment and care plan with the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Discuss transplant and modality options with patients.
