Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
• One year experience as a medical receptionist or other related field preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Updates patient information, provides forms to complete, and obtains signatures as necessary.
• Prepares charts for each clinical session and ensures tests and notes are in charts.
• Schedules patients for appointments including consultations and diagnostic tests as requested.
• Schedules transportation and interpreters for patients as needed.
• Verifies insurance eligibility as appropriate.
• Provides telephone coverage and uses good customer service for all callers.
• Completes forms as requested and responds to patient requests promptly.
• Maintains professional communication with team about patient care and operations.
• Keeps aware of department protocol changes and stays competent on computer systems.
