The University of Rochester is hiring an ambulatory patient access specialist for the Strong West/OLEAN area in Brockport. This full-time role focuses on reception, registration, scheduling, data entry in the EMR and revenue cycle systems, and ensuring accurate, billable patient encounters.

You will greet patients, verify identities, collect demographics and payments, coordinate appointments, and support front-d desk operations while upholding HIPAA and ICARE values.

Qualificações

• High School diploma and 1 year related experience in an administrative office or customer service field required.
• Completion of Vision Care 1,2,3 courses required.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsabilidades

• Greets patients to initiate positive ambulatory experience and verifies patient identity using two identifiers.
• Collects patient demographics and financial information and enters into EMR and revenue cycle system.
• Schedules visits, pre-registers patients, coordinates appointments and follows up on missed/cancelled visits.
• Answers phone promptly and routes calls to appropriate staff with clear communication.
• Edits and corrects registration data and supports charge reconciliation processes.
• Assesses urgency, handles complaints, and serves as a front-line problem solver.
• May escort patients to treatment areas and collect basic visit information.
• Other duties as assigned.
