University of Rochester is seeking a friendly administrative professional to support ambulatory care operations. You will greet patients, verify identities, schedule appointments, and enter demographic and financial data into the EMR and revenue cycle systems.

The role includes managing In Basket workflows and coordinating with registration and insurance teams. Strong attention to HIPAA, data accuracy, and customer service is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and one year related experience in an administrative office or customer service field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Medical terminology experience preferred.
• Proficiency in word processing documents and database data entry preferred.
• Demonstration of the ICARE values to patients, families, and staff preferred.

Responsabilités

• Perform patient information processing for ambulatory care visits, including reception and registration, charge reconciliation, appointment scheduling, eRecord tasks, In Basket management, and telephone encounter management using EMR and revenue cycle systems.
• Greet patients, verify identity, identify providers, direct patients, obtain signatures, assess needs, and monitor waiting area.
• Provide a warm hand‑off to registration and insurance management; update patients on wait times and protect PHI under HIPAA.
• Collect demographic and financial data, enter into EMR, request emails, and complete required forms such as Medicare Secondary Payer and Financial Assistance.
• Schedule visits, pre‑register patients, coordinate testing or referrals, follow up on missed appointments, manage correspondence and interpreters.
