ArborMetrics (AMS) is seeking a Work Planner/Forester to join our outdoors-oriented vegetation management team in Illinois. You will drive to work sites, hike rights-of-way, document vegetation, and use forestry software and an iPhone to enter data.

This full-time role emphasizes safety, independence, and collaboration with clients and leadership. Ideal candidates bring knowledge of tree species, hazard assessment, and GIS familiarity, and can adapt to varied weather and terrain.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of tree species identification, hazard tree assessment, and invasive species management.
• Ability to hike ROWs and work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
• Experience with GIS software and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with public interaction.

Responsibilities

• Identify and report safety hazards and unsafe conditions.
• Drive to work sites and hike rights-of-way.
• Inspect and document vegetation work on customer properties.
• Record vegetation data using tablets and forestry software.
• Engage with customers, leadership, auditors, and landowners.
• Participate in emergency response duties as needed.
