Job summary

ArborMetrics is seeking a Work Planner to join our vegetation management team. The role involves field duties outdoors, navigating rights-of-way, and documenting vegetation work with tablets and forestry software.

Ideal candidates hike long distances, work independently, and communicate effectively with clients and leadership. Knowledge of GIS, Microsoft Office, and iPhone technology is valuable, as is adaptability to varied weather and terrain.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of tree species identification, hazard tree assessment, invasive species management, and understanding of tree growth patterns.
• Ability to hike/ROWs and drive for extended periods.
• Knowledgeable about Utility Vegetation Management practices.
• Experience with GIS software/technology as well as Microsoft Suite and an iPhone.
• Must be able to work alone outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, problem solving, multitasking, and attention to detail.
• Ability to adapt to change.

Responsibilities

• Identify and report safety hazards, incidents, and unsafe conditions.
• Follow AMS safety standards and promote safety culture.
• Drive to work sites and hike rights-of-way up to 10 miles a day.
• Inspect and document vegetation work at customer properties.
• Record vegetation data using tablets and specialized software.
• Use forestry computer systems for data entry and tracking.
• Address customer concerns and communicate with leadership, auditors, clients, contractors, landowners and the public.
• Participate in storm and emergency response duties as needed.
