Job summary

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is seeking full-time Roadway Maintenance Technicians to join our outdoor, hands-on team. You will perform maintenance on highways, bridges, and drainage systems, respond to emergencies, and help keep roads safe for the traveling public.

Ideal candidates enjoy outdoor work, operate equipment, and follow safety procedures and MOT requirements. This role demands physical endurance, flexible scheduling, and a commitment to public service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to use a smartphone and mobile applications.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Ability to work safely in high-traffic environments.
• Adaptability to changing schedules and project needs.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background screening, MVR review, and controlled substance testing.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a crew performing roadway maintenance and emergency response on active highways and roadways.
• Pick up debris, litter, and roadway hazards that could impact driver safety.
• Install, repair, and replace guardrail, signs, delineators, and other safety devices.
• Repair potholes and pavement using asphalt and concrete.
• Clean ditches, culverts, and drainage systems to prevent flooding.
• Assist with snow and ice removal operations and winter weather events.
• Set up traffic control devices, cones, signs, and lane closures for MOT.
