Job summary

Osmose Utilities Services, Inc. is hiring Field Data Technicians to collect detailed data on electric and telecom facilities in outdoor environments. The role involves hiking between utility spans to capture measurements, with routine overnight travel and potential out-of-state assignments.

Osmose will train the selected candidate to perform all required duties. The position offers a starting pay of $24.50 per hour, plus hourly bonuses, hotel expenses, and travel/vehicle reimbursements as

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical background preferred.
• Basic knowledge of telecommunications and/or electrical distribution systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of pole design including NESC requirements and general safety practices is a plus.
• Enjoy outdoor work in all weather and be able to lift 15–20 lbs regularly.
• Basic proficiency with computers including reading and following GPS maps.
• Ability to travel and work outside in variable terrain and weather conditions.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Excellent written and oral communication; professional appearance.
• Demonstrated safety-conscious work habits and ability to work independently.
• Minimum 1 year of outdoor work experience; 1 year in safety-compliant roles; 6 months in quality-controlled environments; willingness for overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Work outdoors to collect field data supporting engineering and design of fiber optic facilities.
• Submit organized data for each project, including maps, field notes and digital images.
• Operate and maintain tablet, camera, measuring tools and PPE.
• Represent Osmose and its customers in the field.
• Communicate daily with project management.
• Work safely and independently in varying conditions.
