Job summary

Osmose Utilities Services Inc is seeking Field Data Technicians to collect detailed field information on electric utility and telecom facilities. The role involves hiking to capture data for fiber optic projects and requires routine travel with potential longer stays. Osmose will train the successful candidate to perform all duties.

The position is outdoors and demanding, with lodging and travel considerations, and includes a compensation plan starting at 24.50/hour plus bonuses and allowances.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical background preferred.
• Basic knowledge of telecommunications and/or electrical distribution systems is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills; both written and oral.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Ability to travel and work outside in variable terrain and weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Work in an outdoor environment to collect field data that supports the engineering and design of fiber optic cable facilities.
• Submit organized detailed data for each project that could include maps field notes and digital images.
• Operate and maintain equipment that would include tablet computer digital camera measuring tools and Personal Protective Equipment.
• Work professionally in the field as a representative of Osmose and our customers.
• Communicate effectively and on a daily basis with the project management team.
• Work safely and independent of supervision.
